Two days, two paces, one passion for chess!
During the St Nicholas’ Day Chess Tournament, we’ll be holding two OPEN tournaments, in which every move can decide the outcome of the game.
Saturday, 5 December, 4.00 pm – BLITZ (rapid chess)
There’s no time for long deliberations here! What counts are quick reflexes, swift decisions and nerves of steel. These lightning-fast games will provide a solid dose of adrenaline for both players and spectators.
REGISTRATION AND RULES – BLITZ
Sunday, 6 December, 2.00 pm – RAPID (rapid chess)
A little more time to think through your strategy, but just as much excitement! This is your chance to demonstrate your cunning, your ability to anticipate your opponent’s moves and your capacity to keep a cool head.
REGISTRATION AND RULES – RAPID
Both tournaments are open to chess enthusiasts of all levels. You don’t have to be a champion to experience the real thrill of tournament play!
Attractive cash prizes await the top players, and you’ll find detailed information on participation, the schedule and the rules of competition on the registration pages for each tournament.
Extra attractions – XXL chess and fun for the whole family!
The St Nicholas’ Day weekend isn’t just about tournament competition! Throughout both days, even outside tournament hours, visitors will find open chess activity zones where everyone can have a go – with no registration, time pressure or need to compete for points.
For those who love a bit of fun, there’ll be XXL chess – the royal game on a grand scale – as well as a draughts area, perfect for family matches and fun with friends.
This is a great opportunity to learn the basics of the game, practise strategic thinking or simply spend time in a unique atmosphere. Who knows, perhaps this is where the youngest visitors will discover their passion for becoming future chess champions?
Together, we create the thrill of chess!
The partner for the St Nicholas’ Day Chess Tournament is the Hetman Płock Chess Club, and together we invite the residents of Płock and the surrounding area to discover a passion for the royal game and experience the excitement of sport.
